Get into Golf - General

Getting into golf at Gosfield couldn’t be easier.  We welcome people of all ages and all abilities.  The Club aims to be friendly where members, guests and families can enjoy a game of golf and also socialise at the many formal and informal events, which we regularly hold. We even have a specially designed course where newcomers of different abilities can learn the sport.

Gosfield Lake Golf Club is approved by the English Golf Union to give beginners the opportunity to ‘Get Into Golf’, a scheme to introduce people to the game regardless of age, gender or background. Golf is a game everyone can enjoy, a healthy sport, which is both sociable and recreational.

Our Professional Richard Wheeler and his assistant professionals will plan a course of lessons for individual or small groups who have no experience. All equipment will be provided and qualified PGA Professionals will give the lessons.  Coaching will be given at weekends; the form of coaching will be in small groups with group and individual tuition, come with a friend or make up a family group.  During the course of lessons, participants may use walking shoes/trainers and smart casual dress. For newcomers to golf of any age, both male and female, we have a specially designed 9-hole Meadows Course suitable for beginners. Gosfield has two courses the Lakes (Championship Course) & Meadows (Beginners Course). The Meadows course is designed to provide a test for beginners to learn the shots necessary to play golf get an official handicap and start enjoying the sport.  Fees are reasonable and the whole Meadows section has a very friendly, family atmosphere.

For Juniors we have an annual and very successful Bursary event, which raises funds to assist juniors with their tuition lessons and, in some cases, their membership fees.
